The court hearing of the proscribed leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu resumed today with the Federal Government filing a six-count treasonable felony charge against the Biafran agitator.

The presiding judge, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja, dismissed the six-count charge by the federal government on the basis that she was not aware of it before today.
- Justice Binta Nyako also denied Mazi Nnamdi Kanu bail on the grounds that the Igbo leader breached a previous bail condition and fled the country.
- The presiding judge urged both parties to allow the case to head to trial in order for the accused to receive a judgment in quick time.
Meanwhile
The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Soludo, met with the detained leader IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, in federal custody, as they have widely accused the group of instigating and perpetrating violence in the region.
- The Governor’s visit is in line with his charge to end the violence threatening Anambra state and the southeastern region of Nigeria.
- Suspected gunmen had mounted roadblocks in parts of Delta State, burning cars and buses. It took the intervention of soldiers and the state police operatives to disperse the group.
