Twitter is gearing up to implement an edit button. Which in recent times has been the most desired new feature for users

What’s happening
It is now testing the service and will make it available to Twitter Blue customers in the coming weeks for $4.99 (£4.33) per month. Twitter Blue is a monthly membership service provided to Australian and Canadian users. Users will pay $4.49 AUD or $3.49 CAD. This is the social media app’s first subscription model, with an apparently minimal fee. Twitter Blue is now available in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, but the initial test will be confined to one country.

What you should know
Tweets will be editable a few times within 30 minutes of posting. To “maintain the integrity of the discourse and create a publicly available record of what was said,” edited tweets will appear with an icon, timestamp, and link to their “Edit History,” according to the company’s blog.

The company’s co-founder and former CEO had previously stated that an edit button would almost certainly never be provided.

However, Elon Musk, who was seeking to buy the company at the time, posted a Twitter poll in April, in which 73.6% of the 4.4 million respondents stated they wanted one.
