The social media platform, Twitter, has rolled out for businesses, giving them more than a gold checkmark. This new feature is coming just after Twitter’s owner, Elon Musk, conducted an online poll seeking the public’s opinion on whether he should step down as the head of Twitter.

The service, Twitter for blue, would enable businesses to link their professional accounts with those of their employees on the platform; increasing the ease of identifying a user who works for them. This means that corporations, media outlets, sport companies, etc. can use this service to connect the accounts of their journalists, workers, players, etc.

What’s more
Twitter for blue is also granting a small badge next to users’ profile display name, confirming to the public that the person works with the said organization. At the time of this report, Twitter had not declared how much this service would cost.

Get smart
Mr. Elon Musk has been vocal about his plans to monetize Twitter. According to the New York Times, the Tesla boss and space x chief engineer has plans to increase Twitter’s revenue by five times. He plans to do this by not relying on the revenues from ads run on the platform but by creating other multiple streams of income.

The big picture
Elon Musk’s tenure as the CEO of Twitter has so far been tainted by controversies and outrages from famous figures and users that drove lots of bad press and even caused some advertisers to exit the social media platform.
