Ex-Police Officer and Former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Alao Akala has died at his home in Ogbomosho. He died at the age of 71.

Otunba Alao Akala has served as the State Governor and Deputy Governor of Oyo state. He was also the acting governor for a month shy of a year when Gov Rashidi Ladoja was impeached.
He was also once a police officer and then rose through the ranks to the ADC to the Inspector-General of Police. As at the time of this report, the cause of his death was unknown.
