The legal counsel to Sunday Igboho, Chief Yomi Aliyu, SAN revealed that the government of Benin republic has announced a decision to keep the Yoruba nation agitator in prison for another 6 months.

While speaking on Monday, Chief Yomi Aliyu, SAN said although the Beninese Government did not serve Sunday Igboho with any charge and no extradition request from Nigeria, the government will hold Sunday Igboho for another six months. 

The Yoruba nation agitator was arrested at an airport in Benin republic by the International Criminal Police Organization after a raid of his home in Ibadan, Oyo State, by officers of the Department of State Service (DSS). They carried out the raid on suspicion of arms dealing by Sunday Igboho.

At his court arraignment in Benin Republic, the judge adjourned the case until further notice, giving the authorities time to investigate the case.
