The Academic Staff Union of Universities has on Monday announced after the congress union meeting that they are ready for an indefinite strike.

Driving The News. 
At a congress meeting of the union, members expressed displeasure in the Federal Government inaction after the Memorandum of Action it signed with the union. ASUU said that its members are ready for an indefinite strike if the government doesn’t do what is necessary within a stipulated time.

Stating the renegotiated deal with the Federal Government, the union listed the implementation of a 2009 agreement and the use of the University Transparency and Accountability Software. ASUU further added that its National Executive Council would meet between Feb 12-13 and if they do nothing in that period, the union would embark on a strike action.
