Anthony J Blinken, the US Secretary of State, arrived in Nigeria on Thursday 19th of November 2021. He is to meet President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Prof Yemi Osinbajo.
Why it matters.
Blinken arrived in Nigeria just before 16:00 pm and the state chief protocol, Lawal Kazaure, received him. Just after he arrived at the presidential villa, Mr Lawal Kazaure led him to a meeting with the President Muhammadu Buhari.
After this meeting with the President, Anthony Blinken would meet with the Vice-president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo. In this meeting, they would sign some documents between Nigeria and the United States of America.
Joined by the Minister of foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, Anthony Blinken would address the press at the State House Briefing Room.
