The Board of Directors of Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas has approved the suspension of exportation of cooking gas. This means that they would channel all gas produce of Liquefied Petroleum Gas to the Nigerian market.

Why it matters?
The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas which produces propane and butane (cooking gas) and supplied its first cargo just three months ago said that it has a proven system to supply propane for cooking gas blending, Agro-allied, auto gas, power and petrochemical sectors of the Nigerian economy.

In the statement released on Thursday, it read that this initiative is in line with the Federal Government’s Decade of Gas initiative. Other purposes of the initiative are to increase the amount of liquefied petroleum gas in Nigeria and diversify the use of LPG.
