The Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum has announced a recent case of kidnapping in the state. According to him, the 24 people kidnapped in Chibok included 22 women and 2 men.

While visiting the scene of the crime, villagers informed the Governor that while the bandits kidnapped 24 people, 4 people died while terrorists destroyed over 100 houses in the attack. Reports say that Prof. Babagana Zulum hosted the affected families at the government lodge while assuring them that the security agencies are right on the case.
The spokesperson to the Governor, Mallon Isa Gusau, while briefing newsmen said the Governor has met with the various agencies in the state to discuss security gaps and measures to toughen up security in the state.
