The stage is almost set for Nigerians to vote in their next set of leaders across all the levels of government. The county’s 2023 general elections would be the seventh democratic election since 1999. To ensure the successful conduct of elections, the federal government is putting in place all the parameters. 

President Muhammadu Buhari, in February, signed the Electoral Act 2022 into law, after which the various political parties conducted primaries for electable positions. Next on the electoral schedule released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is the publishing of the final list of nominated candidates. The list comprises all the candidates that can be voted for across all the levels of governments.

One of the nominated candidates who is contesting for the presidential elections is Rabiu Kwankwaso. The presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) is a two-term governor of Kano State. Infrastructure 
The Rabiu Kwankwaso administration in his two-term tenure as the former governor of Kano State was one that erected infrastructures in the state. This includes Ibrahim Taiwo road flyover, M/Muhd way flyover Kabuga underpass K/gadon kaya underpass Kwankwasiyya city, Amana city, etc. The presidential candidate also constructed many roads, including the dualization of sabuwar kofa road, expansion of Zaria road, etc. 

Education 
Dr Rabiu Kwankwaso granted bonafide indigenes of Kano State free education through primary, secondary and tertiary institutions. The United Nations once recognized his contributions to education in Kano State. Also worthy of mention is the establishment of the State University of Technology at Wudil. 

Power 
The presidential candidate of NNPP executed many rural electrification programs in the state. The success of one program attracted the federal government to convert one property to the Nigerian Law School at Bagauda.

Health 
The former governor of Kano State also introduced free anti-natal programs for pregnant women.
