The Senate President, Ahmad Lawan has on Tuesday announced the re-amendment of the Electoral Act Bill, 2022.

The Big Picture. 
While speaking after the senate session, the senate president said the lawmakers reviewed the amendment to synchronize its stance with the position of the House of Representatives. He said while the House of Representatives stated direct and indirect mode of conducting primary elections, the house of senate listed direct, indirect and consensus mode. Ahmad Lawan said the lawmakers met to unite their preference.

The senate president, speaking about the possibility of signing the bill into law, expressed optimism that President Buhari would give his consent. He further urged political parties to embrace the changes made to the electoral bill to get the opportunities that follow.
