The spokesperson of the Minister of Information and Culture, Segun Adeyemi, stated that the Minister, Lai Mohammed, is on official duty outside of the country and would comment on the Lagos state Judicial Panel final report as soon as possible.
Why it matters?
Following the events of October 20th 2020, the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed at various press briefings, said there was no massacre at the Lekki Toll Gate. He also fired warnings at the Cable News Network and other international organizations who made contrary statements.
In response to the several calls made to the office of the Minister to get a comment to the final report, the spokesman to the Minister said, “We are out of the country (Nigeria) on assignment. Expect our response shortly.”
In other news, a good number of House of Representatives members have said the information minister should either resign or the President Muhammadu Buhari should sack him. There have been various criticisms in the public spaces of the Minister and other Nigerians who supported Lai Mohammed’s claim.
