The Federal High Court in Abuja adjourned until February 16th, the court trial of the Indigenous People of Biafra’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
The Big Picture.
On Monday, the federal government had filed a 15-count charge against him, including charges bordering treasonable felony and terrorism. Following the late acquisition of the amended 15 count charge of the accused defense lawyers on Tuesday, the judge Binta Nyako adjourned the case till Wednesday.
In the court trial on Wednesday, Nnamdi Kanu pleaded not guilty to all the charges presented against him by the Federal Government. With Nnamdi Kanu’s lawyer challenging the validity of the charges against his client, the judge adjourned the case until February 16th. Giving time to determine whether the charges are defective.
In related news, a high court in Abia State has ruled in favour of the IPOB leader, stating that the Federal Government violated his fundamental rights when the military invaded his home back in 2017. The court ordered the Federal Government to pay N1billion for damages.
