In the statement signed by the President, Opeyemi Tomori, and Secretary Okonu Abdullahi, the association said that it would disrupt communication in the country if the authorities do not attend to its issues. The statement reminded MTN of the International Labour Organization Conventions 87 and 98 and asked the telecommunication giant to align with it.
Listing its demands, the statement said that MTN Nigeria agrees to a Two weeks meeting with the Chief Executive Officer and the Chief Human Resources Officer to round up the CBA negotiations. It also listed that the management should lift the ban that was placed on members who wish to join the union. Other concerns include threatening members of the union and that the union be recognized as the sole negotiating body of its members.
