Ecobank Group has opened applications for the 2022 edition of its FinTech challenge for early and late tech startups with a cash prize of $50,000. The application is open to FinTechs in all countries on the African continent, as well as global firms with an African focus.

African startups which support the strategic goals of the pan-African banking organization, Ecobank Group would not just be competing to win the cash prize but also partner with the bank and scale their products across Ecobank’s 33 African markets.

Ecobank would induct 10 candidates into its fellowship after the event in October.
What you should know
For the five years in which the FinTech challenge has gone on, the Ecobank group has sought to spark innovation in “Africa’s provision of financial services by encouraging both collaboration and the formation of new, strategic FinTech partnerships.”
The bank also seeks to present FinTechs with partnership opportunities within the reach of Ecobank and that match their different levels of maturity.
For a successful run, Ecobank partners with Konfidants, an international advisory firm, as well as other partners in Africa and beyond. Applications for this year’s edition are open until 16th September 2022.
Since the origin of the Ecobank FinTech Fellowship in 2017, the program has admitted 46 fellows.
