Four individuals from Maiduguri and Borno State have presented the Director General of NADDC with a mini bus converted from petrol engine to electric engine.

Director General National Automotive Design and Development Council, Jelani Aliyu, made this announcement while speaking in Abuja at the unveiling of the minibus. In his speech, the Director-General commended the efforts of the four young innovators while urging young Nigerians to follow such examples.
Mr. Aliyu also promised that the council will have a sit down with the innovators to discuss how to mass produce these cars in a better and more efficient manner. He also said that they would discuss how to upgrade the cars with international standards.
